30th Wedding Anniversary

30 years of married Life and I didnt met anyone who has crossed the 30years and it was the first time I am attending a celebration of this kind.

Usual day in office, I wish to leave early from the office but didnt, reached Vinods home,had a good shower and I was planning to make this celebration memorable. Krishnama's two sisters ie. one my mother and Jalajama from Calicut also reached home with some sweets for the ocassion. My idea was to have some pulavu i.e. biriyani rice with a non-veg dish, but Krishnama didnt like that idea because we had duck curry yesterday, and Babu Chetan also asked her that he will order biriyanis from outside, we all didnt liked that because last time it didnt taste good. Vinod was gone out and when he came, he bought the cake. So after some deliberations I initiated the idea to make pulavu and chicken roast, so I went with Nandapan to buy the items for the pulavu and curry and also the main thing for the ocassion the candle which is goin on the top of the cake " 30 " so we searched some shop and we didnt got the "30" candle but after some time Nandappan came with a 3 and 3. And when we reached home all make fun out of us because it was the 30the wedding anniversay and we bought the numbers " 3 3 ". Nandappan told me that we can cut the 3 and make it was 30, so that problem was solved. Meanwhile cooking was going on in the Kitchen, and it was almost ready. Vinod had bought a new shirt for Babu Chetan and a watch for Krishnamma, Babu chetan was getting ready with the new shirt and Krishnamma was getting ready with a new saree and with jasmine flowers. And they are getting ready to cut the cake, meanwhile Akaash was making a big scene to cut the cake, but after some time he changed and was calm. After cutting the cake food was served hot pulavu and spicy chicken curry no toasts, just plain water...

Vinods Wedding Sunday 18th Nov

The wedding day, all wake up early except Akaash who was having a sound sleep although every was buseee . The grooms car came by about 6.30- 6.45 it was white Lancer, the car came early for putting the decorations i.e grooms & brides names and flowers on the front and side doors, that was assigned to Vinods friend so i was calling him, but no response bcoz of yesterdays booze, but after some time another friend came and took the flowers and letters and started the work and in between the friend who was assigned the work also came in. The scheduled time to leave the grooms home was at about 8.30 but it was about 9 they left we had an extra car for others and 1st trip went relatives and I was waiting for the second trip.

Reached Sreedevi auditorium not much people in the hall bcoz only close relatives come for this starting rituals bcoz it will be for at least 4-5 hrs people will be bored but close relatives have to bear this. Mean while someone informed that breakfast was serving on the adjacent hall so we went there had some Uppuma with some fried snacks.

Marriage rituals was going on as usual but people was thronging seems 1000 plus has been invited so the hall was full of people and some people was standing outside the shades near the hall and some was waiting near the hall adjacent so that they can catch the 1st batch of meals.

I saw old faces means faces older about 10-20 years, they couldnt recognise me the first One was my tuition teacher, her home was near the brides home we had a small chat. the other 2 was sisters who was near our ancestral home, they were talking to me and sis on a mistaken identity and later only she recognised who we are , but the younger sis was very quick and remembered us very fast.

At about 2.30 the groom & bride came out from the hall and took some pics in daylight, the rituals was not over the Swami was announcing that the time for entering home is already passed and told to stop taking pics and move to the car waiting for them, bcoz the Swamy has some more rituals when they were entering the grooms home.

At about 3.30 pm the bride & groom with brides family members came to grooms home and the ritual was kannya dan that is handing over the gurl to the grooms parents and it lasted for about 20-30 minutes after that they untying of Nandii and shaking the Kalash that was kept 10 days before the marriage i.e is the culimination of rituals for the day

After this ritual the brides family members had some cold drinks and snacks and they left the bride and groom but 2-4 members was left back bcoz they will be taking the bride to the brides home and after some time relatives from grooms side will go and call the bride & groom to the grooms home

After the bride & groom left, close friends of groom came in and they were busee making plans to decorate the bedroom for the groom & bride, so went out to buy some flowers i.e jasmine and other flowers and they also put the name of the bride & groom which took from the wedding car and the bed froom was ready in 20 mins after that friends has a get together in between the bride & groom

Vinods Wedding Eve Saturday 17th Nov

came from Vinods home, bcoz were there for the marriage,Unsual day in office manager was leave as he was going for the Sabarimala Pilgrimage. I was planning to move out from office at about 4.30 so that i can reach Vinods home a lil bit early bcoz of the Marriage eve programs... programs means booze n biriyani actuall it was a booze party for the boozers. At about 1pm i got a call from the Regional Manager that his Zonal Manager will be coming to my office for a visit at about 5pm that call end my all hopes to go early.

Had a second thought about the Kurta so I have to buy a new shirt for the marriage, went to Fab India and bought one blue cotting shirt with a zig zag design

So myself and my colleague put things in order for clean tidy office, there was a despatch to local that too finished by about 2.30 pm and we sat for the visit to happen early, and suddenly a man came inside and introduced himself as KK the Zonal Manager, and just talks about the pending things and issues and 2 other sales persons also joined him and they have a look at the stocks and bid farewell in 10-15 mins. Then i was getting ready to pickupthe digi camera for taking snaps near mi home off to Vinods, home.

Vinods home was buzzing with people bcoz the party has begun people trickling in 1s and 2s. I had quick shower and changed clothes kurtha and kavi mundu and went to the roof where the party is happening. There was a room / bar exclusively for boozers on the ground floor and upstairs and all of them was taking booze without any control and saw some walking in air, and one was not willing to come down the stairs and one was sleeping on the table catching the bench, all happenings in a party.

Meanwhile, some of my old friends and family was coming from Calicut, as it was night and it was difficult for them to find Vinods home, I arranged a Maruti Van the driver was known to me and he was near the railway station, so I informed my friends to get down the Station near to my home, and they reached about 9.30pm.

At about 11 - 11.30 everything was over food was enough for all first we thought it will be in excess bcoz we didnt see people coming and about 1.30 am 1.45 went to sleep

Nandi Pooja the wedding ceremonies begins

We started on 9.11.07 night to attend the Nandi Pooja the rituals of Vinod's marriage. The Swami came at about 8.30 we all were ready for the Pooja before the Swami came, all things were kept ready for Swamy. This ritual was not seen by me before so I was very keen to watch all things, at the same time I was taking pics of this ceremony. Mother and her sister came a lil bit late for this, but Akaash was very interested in this ceremony and he was sitting in Vinods lap and after some he switched places to Krishnammas. After the pooja was over it was the starting of inviting people ie. relations and people in our community, bcoz after this Nandi pooja only we can invite our relations and our community. So the first invitee was Vinods fathers sisters home we went on our bike and they came in Auto which was the official vehicle for inviting people. A small ceremony there and some sweets after that we went back to Vinods home and they Babu Chetan with others went to Palluruthy area for inviting.

Vinod and me went to Kalyan Silks to buy the wedding shirt, and one the way we had small a shopping shoes, socks etc

Diwaliii

One more Diwali !!!got a holiday by chance by the efforts of my Manager, yesterday bought sweets from Bimbis and some fire crackers not crackers just sparklers, chakras and flower pots, amma made some sweets with rava and some neyyapams, took some sweets and ammas creations to Jaimey, late night we lit the sparklers, flowerpots and chakras. On Diwali day Lachu called and they told they are coming for lunch but till 4 pm they didnt show up and we took our lunch at 4pm, and evening Lachu came and they also played with the sparklers, all this going fine but after some Lachu hand was burned no one noticed might be she may caught a hot sparkler she was crying and holding here hand in water for cooling and they left home

Special Marriage Act

wake up early some work in computer

I am baffled by the Special marriage Act marriage by posting a notice on a board and two people getting married without informing their parents / guardians

my friend reminded about his special marriage act, and told me to be a witness for the same, reached office late, one truck to unload and some problem with the unloading people, waited for our Manager, in between I got a call from mi friend for coming to the Registrars Office for signing as a witness, as soon as my manager came I went to the Registrars Office, when I reached I saw one of my friend moving in a car, he too was coming to be a witness we chatted there and waited for the bridegroom friend the bride was waiting in front of the registrars office.

This marriage thing all was going a filmy story it all started from a wrong number from this bride to one of my friend and this friend give her number to his friend the bridegroom he send about some 5 - 10 sms and after the 10th sms she called him back and can we say luv at first wrong number. And after 2-3 months of good time they had a gr8 time at coffee shops and every places in Kochi. They decided to become one and started the procedure for marrying under the Special Marriage Act and from that day she started to stay in his home.

All at home went out for shopping for my cousins marriage, they came late, me too waited in Jaimeys house, bought sarees and kurtha pyjama for Akaash, and a new chair

Usual chit hat in VCD shop, feeling a bit tired, went to bed early

Electrician came and started working on lights and motors, relatives from palluruthy came

Lachu came in the evening, went with Lachu & Akaash to railway line to see trains

went for a ride with friends had beer n food returned home

the formation day of Kerala was a hartal day

wake up late got some work in the computer, plumbers came to install the new motor
pluck coconuts and cleaned the roof

old motor salvaged, the money got from the scrap dealer given to the plumbers

went to Reliance Fresh for making purchase but nothing was there due to the hartal, and reached Varkeys near our home got some vegetables

the old tenants was moving out and the new people was in had a talk with them explaining the conditions

had a get together with Judson / Jaimey had a nice time

went to bed very late 11.45

some invoices and despatches due to sales closing i have to sit upto 8.45pm for making some invoices reached home mother came back from calicut with her sister

Akaash had a cut in his right hand finger crushed between doors, he was sleeping

changed the lights in bedroom and kitchen

got a movie National Treasure was a good action movie

went to bed

reached home, got ready for going to my cousins home
but it was raining unable to move out, so waited for about
1 hour and reached before the next downpour

Sunday Rameshs marriage

waited opposite the petrol pump for catching the wedding partys bus saw the groom and his relatives going waited for about 10- 15 minutes for the grooms friends they have a separate bus, reached the temple and got down there and the friends moved out to have some refreshment nearby, i took some pics of the wedding and had the sadya it was a good sadya by that time his friends came back and they also had sadya and by about 2 pm we returned back, they dropped at the same place

evening : went back to home usual chit chats with friends

Vinu came with fried rice and chilly gopi , took a DVD " Steal " its was nice action movie, went to bed
